Select committees are an important part of examining the work of government. Put simply they check and report on areas of government departments such as spending, policies and administration. John Bates speaks to the chair of the EFRA committee MP, Neil Parish and to AHDB’s Sarah Baker both have got a tale to tell albeit from different sides of the table.
